May in Melbourne

The past few weeks have been beautiful weather and very relaxing.  We really havent gotten up to much but thought I might as well post anyways.

We did a little Cinco de Mayo celebration last Sunday.  It was really fun and we had a ton of delicious food. There were lots of sombreros and even a pinata-- Fewer margaritas this year.. sorry folks, it seems the pregnant lady did the shopping  :)  It seems like we always have Fiesta themed parties but that's ok, who doesnt love a little mexican food!?  OLE!

This Sunday was my very first Mothers day!  So exciting (although Im sure it will be even better next year with our little guy!)  Brian, being the sweet man he is, made me some special pancakes and a fabulous lunch today!  I'm loving this mothers day stuff and loving being a mom to this little boy already!  :)

26 weeks today :)  Mum and bub!

Other than that we've been mostly taking it easy but on Wednesday we fly out to the beautiful Port Douglas to have a little "babymoon."  I am so looking forward to hanging out by the pool or beach, getting a massage and hopefully making another trip to the Great Barrier Reef-- no scuba for me this trip!!  Ill update upon return!  In the meantime, Have a Great MAY! :)

XOXO

Houston Baby Shower & more!

I left for a visit to Houston on March 20.  I was so excited to come back because we were gathering everything for our baby boy!  Plus I just love seeing friends and family :)  That is always the best part!

On Sunday March 24th my sweet Aunts (Janie, Paula, Molly and Maureen) along with my sister in law, Carole, threw me an incredible baby shower.  Everything was beautiful and they did such and amazing job with all the details!  I really appreciated everyone who came out to spoil our little guy!  He received nearly EVERYTHING we needed from our friends and family, making all his belongings so special.  He is truly blessed to have so many kind people who love him already.  I was overwhelmed with the kindness.  Love you all who made it out (and of course those who couldn't!)

Here are so pictures of the big day... I was 19 weeks pregnant at this point.

So much fun!  The whole trip was amazing!  I got to see so many friends and family :)  We had the Peltier Brothers Company Picnic, Easter and lots of dinners and lunches out with friends.

Lauren, Tim and Baby Grant---

Before we left Houston we got to celebrate the engagement of Amy and Patrick!  I am so happy for the both of them and know they will have a beautiful wedding and marriage.  Unfortunately, I am not going to be able to attend because I will be having a baby that week!  The party was so much fun and I really enjoyed hanging out with everyone-- even if I was the only sober one there :)

It was so much fun!  The next day Brian and I left for Kansas to visit the Kings.  It was so nice and relaxing and we had fun catching up with everyone.  I dont have any pictures from this portion of the trip, I hate when I do that!

Our whole stay in America was great and we really needed one last visit before the little boy gets here!  Next time we will travel will be with the baby! Ah I cant believe it!

Since we got back, our Air freight has arrived!  We started getting the babies room set up and Im loving it so far!!  Now all we need is the little one!

Baby Boy King :)

Hello all, I havent been very good with my blog updates so Ill do a few in the next few days!  First thing first...

We're having a baby!!!!  That is old news to most people but thought I needed to add it to my blog :)  Our sweet little boy is due August 18th and we couldn't be happier!

I am now 24 weeks along and am enjoying feeling him toss and turn and kick me!  He especially loves when I eat anything sweet!  All my appointments have gone very well and so far he seems to be a healthy growing boy!  I will deliver here in Australia at the Epworth Freemason Hospital where they keep you there for around 4 nights even if you have a smooth pregnancy.  They make sure you are confident with all the basics, breastfeeding, bathing, changing etc before they send you out on your own.  I think Ill appreciate that considering I don't have a clue at this point how to do any of that!  My mom and (possibly) dad will come around the time he arrives, unless he comes super early but we cant know that yet!

All and all I am having a fantastic pregnancy!  I am loving it and feeling great!

I will leave you with a few first photos of our little guy...

ITS A BOY!!!
love this, giving me a good ole kick! :)

Summer

Oh I just love summertime!  I love the hot weather and I wish we had a longer summer around here!  Earlier in the season we met some friends up at the Melbourne Zoo for a concert!  I was so much fun and it was beautiful out!  We packed a picnic and went early to see some of the animals.  The rest of the evening we listened to the Melbourne Ska Orchestra, which was a huge band with every instrument ever!  It was really fun to listen to.  During the show we walked over to the lions den and in between the songs they would roar and growl!  We cant decide if they really liked it or really hated it! :)

After a few busy weeks with work (Brian was mostly in Perth) we had some visitors!!  My cousin Shelly and Brians brother Steve!  It was so much fun having them!

On their visit we first on a road trip to the beautiful Great Ocean Road....

That was the fourth time we've been out there and those views never get old!  We saw lots of koalas and and echinda but no kangaroos...  Darn those wild animals not being out in the open!

When we returned from our trip we relaxed before a full week of activities!
Monday- Having some of the best Melbourne foodies have to offer for an event at the Food and Wine Festival.  Then an afternoon soaking up the sun at the beach!
Tuesday-  Lunch in one of the iconic laneways followed by a trip to the Aquarium, museums and a walk through the city.  A VERY HOT DAY!
Wednesday- A long walk through the city with their wonderful tour guide (ME!) including the Old Melbourne Gaol, Little Italy (pizza) and Chinatown (dumplings) and walks through parks and all the old beautiful buildings.  That night we went to the open air cinema in the Botanical Gardens.  We watched our favorite Aussie flick, Red Dog, while huge bats flew overhead.
Thursday-  A trip to a wildlife sanctuary where we got to see ALL the Australian wildlife!  Right after we went to a few wineries in the gorgeous Yarra Valley.
Friday- In the morning I took them to the Queen Victoria Market to stock up on souvenirs.  Afterwards, Brian and Steve took a drive (in the convertible!) to the Mornington Peninsula where they saw lots of scenery, kangaroos and a micro brewery.  Shelly and I spend the rest of the day shopping and went to a nice dinner.
Saturday- They went home! :(

So much was done in so little time!  We had the best time seeing the sights during the day and visiting and playing games and drinking and grilling in the evenings.  I have a few more pictures from our trip (but I didnt take too many)  Here goes... ENJOY

Be back real soon for more updates! :)
